Day #32, June 14th (R&R off site): What would I have us do?

A dear friend asked me that today. Jay, "What would you have us do?"

Simple. This is what I would have us do:

#1. Think of the 3 people that you most love in the world.
#2. Get in touch, right here in your mind, with how dearly you love them.
#3. Imagine (please do it now) that irrevocably, their fate had been exactly tied to those in the Camps in Darfur/Chad where they are living torturous lives, dying at 2,000 per week.
#4. Imagine (right now please) that you know that THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SAVE THEM IS TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE, TO BRING ABOUT THE SAVING OF DARFUR.
#5. NOW, what would YOU do? What would you have ME do?

Well, if you executed the above in your mind, YOU JUST ELIMINATED THE DOUBLE STANDARD WE LIVE BY. You have crossed over, in your mind at least, for a moment, to - DO UNTO OTHERS ALL THAT YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. (My Mom was clear with we kids from the time we were quite little - "I do not believe in God. What I believe in is, 'Do unto others ALL that you would have them do unto you.")

What would I have you do? NO MORE DOUBLE STANDARD. "Do unto others ALL that you would have them do unto you." Try to work a miracle to Rescue and Restore Darfur." For Darfur. For the Joy of it. For your loved ones.

Note: I expect to be back on site for as many months as I can hold out, Friday.

Interesting that you have time to direct meanspirited (yes?) and discouraging comments at me. I wonder if you have as much time to help people in Darfur.

I'll guess there is little joy in you life. I hope that changes.
